What You'll Do
Blake St. House in Bentonville, Arkansas is seeking a passionate and driven Sous Chef to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with our Executive Chef and Chef de Cuisine to maintain high culinary standards, lead the kitchen staff, and develop seasonally inspired menus that celebrate fresh, local ingredients. Ideal candidates bring a strong background in experiential dining, creativity in menu development, and proven leadership abilities. This a salaried, exempt role. Evening and weekend availability required.

Responsibilities
- Supervising line cooks, prep cooks, and other kitchen staff; delegating tasks, providing training, and addressing performance issues.
- Ensure food quality while conscious of food costs, and seasonal availability.
- Provide kitchen operations guidance to kitchen staff to ensure compliance and speed of Blake Street House service standards are upheld.
- Track, record and replenish inventory; manage food costs and minimize waste.
- Safeguard kitchen safety and sanitation management.
- Train staff on menu prep, portion control, and food handling techniques.
- Assist the Executive Chef and Chef de Cuisine in culinary and administrative functions as directed to ensure efficient kitchen operation.
- Ensure strong lines of communication between Front of House and Back of House Teams.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Chef de Cuisine to create seasonal menus for pop-up bars, private hires and events, and design new dishes.
- Self-manage. Follow attendance policy, adhere to dress code, be proactive in accomplishing duties, adhere to Company policies and procedures.
- All other duties as assigned.
What You Need to Get the Job Done
- Minimum 5 years of progressive line cook experience in a high-volume kitchen required.
- Natural leader with the desire to grow in career and to teach others.
- Knowledge of inventory tracking and par systems.
- Mastery of various cooking techniques; ability to prepare complex dishes, and knowledge of different cuisines.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- High level of precision and accuracy when preparing food.
- Ability to quickly identify and resolve issues in the kitchen.
- Flexible in nature; able to work under pressure and adjust to changing demands.
- Efficiently managing tasks and prioritizing work to meet deadlines

What Will Make Us Really Love You
- Previous experience working in wellness club or multi-unit operations atmosphere.
- Previous experience supervising culinary teams.
- Made-from-scratch cooking experience.
