The Preacher’s Son, a unique and sustainably-sourced dinner service in a thoughtfully-restored historic church just steps from the Bentonville City Square, is expanding its leadership team.

What You'll Do

The Preacher's Son Beverage Manager is responsible for providing direct supervision of all Bartenders at the concept, which includes 3 bars and seasonal pop-ups. This includes setting and upholding service standards, dress-code, presentation, guest experience, training and development, and related supervisory duties. The Beverage Manager will also serve as acting FoH manager on duty responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, as required.

Our ideal candidate must have evening, night and weekend availability.

This is a salaried, exempt role with competitive quarterly bonus offering.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision of Beverage and Front-of-House hourly employees.  This includes hiring, training, coaching, staffing, performance evaluations, advancement and related supervisory duties as well as acting as manager on duty responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the restaurant as required.
  • Review the monthly P&L, scrutinizing costs to optimize profit margins without compromising quality.  
  • Adhere to annual budget/business plan established by Leadership; Be responsible for the achievement and regular review thereof. 
  • Drive and monitor performance through KPIs, linking results with sales and marketing activities.  
  • Communicate restaurant and department information at staff meetings, line-up, group presentations and through written memos.
  • Ensure all financial (invoices, reporting) and personnel/payroll related administrative duties are completed accurately, on time and in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Develop and execute bar programming in tandem with TPS lead bartender team.
  • Train staff in customer service, server/bar skills, as well as safety and sanitation.
  • Supervise bar operation to maximize profitability, minimize legal liability, and conform to alcoholic beverage regulations.
  • Interact frequently with customers to determine satisfaction level and provide Service Recovery, if necessary; make table visits to all guests each shift; investigate and resolve complaints concerning food quality and service.
  • Implement and maintain cash handling standards.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date plan of restaurant staffing needs; prepare schedules and ensure restaurant is staffed for all shifts.
  • Ensure proper security procedures are in place to protect employees, guests and company assets.
  • Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents; complete accident reports promptly in the event that a guest or employee is injured.
  • Complies with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and company sanitation procedures as evidenced through local health department and third-party audits.
  • Self-manages: follows attendance policy, clocks in/out appropriately, adheres to dress code, is proactive in accomplishing duties, adheres to Company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred but not required
  • A minimum of 3 years high volume, full service bar management experience required.
  • Multi-unit supervisory experience preferred but not required.
  • Advanced beverage knowledge and recipe creation required.
  • Great customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills. 
  • Organized and able to multitask.
  • Advanced math, reading and computer skills.
  • Must possess or obtain all licenses and certificates required by the local health department and Alcoholic Beverage Commission. 
  • Ability to work on your feet for hours at a time.
